Just a quick note to thank everyone for the birthday wishes and the 200k hits!

Sorry I'm still not uploading stuff.. life is just too busy and fun at the moment. Hope everyone is well!

One of the reasons why I never left DA even though I've been quiet is due to the great things I discover here via deviants' journals. Watching people who are into video games lead me to the latest info on the next epic must-play and now the announcement of the Nintendo 3DS.... I'm not usually one to hype about technology but I think this looks pretty amazing!

And people still wonder why Apple products are expensive? Well if you want to compromise functionality (a menu slides out at like. 5 frames per sec. or something) and go for something that only looks *similiar* to the original but with a digusting white frame then yeah, you get what you pay for.

Cases like these really really put me off sharing my work on DA.. if China can get away with these knock-offs of major brands what more individuals like us?!

I was doing such a good job clearing out my messages when it jumped back up to 1000+ messages and I was like WHA-?!

My Japan trip was as amazing as I expected it to be and so much more. It has left me wanting to go back again and again and again..

I hope everyone's been well!

HOLY CRAP it's still slowly sinking in - the fact that I will be on my way to Japan in ONE WEEK!!! Yes, I'm making the epic pilgrimage to the kawaii mecca and will journey for 2 weeks around Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. OMGWTFBBQ SO EXCITED!

Gee you'd think that two weeks sounds long but there's just sooo much to see and do that it feels too short anyhoo CAN'T WAIITTTTT

I miss you all.

Sorry for not living up to my word even after that last attempt to gather ideas and make new stuff. I'm just so out of art and design right now, quite ironic since I'm in a design agency.

it's been way too long. I didn't manage to revive my muse over the past few months (or year) of neglecting my DA gallery but I'm still trying

maybe I just need to brainstorm with other more creative people - throw your ideas at me!

Wow. It's been two months since my last deviation. Every time I log into DA I just look at the increasing number of deviations and messages and I just close it off because I haven't had time to sit down and plough through it all.. but I'm slowly getting through it all! Hehe

Just wanted to highlight a few matters in this journal especially the recent requests. Lately I've been getting notes requesting custom plushies, tutorials and laptop covers but I must apologise that I don't have time to accept commissions at the moment. Working life is tiring and I'm still trying to get used to it..... I've been soooo happy to have some free time this week to do a bit of illustration, design and sewing again but I don't want to make promises to anyone to make them custom stuff. >_<

So please don't take offense if I couldn't fulfill your request.. when I want to do something, be it a design/plush/tutorial/etc,  I want to do it properly and not in a half-hearted manner. Now that I have some free time, I'm just trying to refresh my skills. YES it's possible to forget how to sew and draw!!! I hope you all understand but yeah, everyone who has noted me so far has been so understanding and you guys are so awesome as always! Thanks for the support and love

Is this idea inspired by Final Fantasy's potion drink? The website is quite tacky so I can't tell if this is a spoof or parody. If anyone has tried it or is planning to, let me know how it goes!

So many journals about the new DA front page and I'm still not seeing the difference. I heard there is a 'fair exposure system' going on but I don't really see it happening? Lol but then again I wouldn't notice the new page much since I hardly ever go there.. I usually find new artworks/artists via others' favourites. :3

I just saw magazine scans over at FF-XIII.net and... hmmmmmmm. Can't say I'm too thrilled about the game because the characters don't seem to look very interesting. : Just more Cloud and Roxas lookalikes. I can't read Japanese so I don't know any in-depth information yet but I see so much resemblence of previous Final Fantasy characters in these new ones......

And then there is FF Versus XIII - I still don't know what it's about or what its relation to FF13 is. There are so many series, mini series, sequels, prequels and whatnot from SquareEnix to keep up with that I've lost track of what is what anymore. AND THEY ALL RELEASE SO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER *explodes* I don't understand why they're so impatient to release all these games! Anyway, the characters in FF Versus XIII also look like older FF characters! =_= If it's not their face, it's their clothes..

[link] : Lightning is similiar to Ashe (FF12) because of her outfit, it's like they used the same template of long top with a split + miniskirt, and the blonde guy (I read his name somewhere else before and now I forgot >_< Anyone knows his name?) looks like a hybrid of Seifer (FF8) and Irvine (FF8)!

I mean, the details are completely different of course, it's just that I'm seeing a general style that's being repeated on these 'new' characters and it's not just within Final Fantasy but the styles from Kingdom Hearts are crossing over too. SquareEnix seems to be recycling their ideas a lot. The frequent release of prequels and sequels over all the gaming platforms is annoying, I can't keep up with them anymore and they're overkilling the hype. I used to look forward to each Final Fantasy game at a time and it felt more special back then... there was enough time to enjoy the game and absorb the story, appreciate the aesthetics and get to know the characters. Now it's about finishing each game to catch up with the "story" and it's completely over-commercialised, and no matter how much merchandise they can churn out, I don't feel compelled to buy anything because I don't fall in love with the characters anymore.

Bah. Back to swooning over Dante for now, I guess.. I hope Devil May Cry 4 doesn't disappoint! Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!!

WHY do people do this? [link]

Is there any point in uploading my work to Photobucket? I didn't want to watermark my ENTIRE gallery but I'm guessing there is no other choice. Why can't my work just stay in my DA gallery?? =_____=

Edit : I wanted to know WHY they are there. Hence the emphasis on "WHY" in the first line... because I don't understand what they're doing on external sites, and not left in my gallery. Is there a reason for this? I didn't say anything is wrong, but I just don't see the purpose of uploading my work to Photobucket. Jeez. And the last time I found my work there, people were claiming it as their work with their own copyrights on the image so I believe I have a good reason not to like seeing my work there.

How has the new year been so far? From what I've read from several deviants' journals, 2008 started off badly for some of you. Can't say that mine has been superb but it doesn't suck either so I'm going to be grateful for this in-between feeling. Heh.

2007 was the first year I've ever spent Christmas and new year's eve overseas. Usually I'm back in my home country for the holidays but it was different this year. Here are some fireworks pictures : [link] and [link] ... anyone wanna share photos of fireworks where you were?

I'll be closing commissions for now because life is getting busy and I can't afford to procrastinate on certain aspects of my life anymore. Commissions and my Etsy store served as great distractions but it's time to achieve bigger things. I only have a few more commissions to finish which you might see in my gallery or scraps, and there are still stuff in my Etsy store for sale at [link] so help me clear out the old stock by giving them a new home!!

Also, some of you have mentioned that I haven't been designing or drawing much lately.. that's because after I finished uni, I wanted a break from all the designing.. and about my illustrations, well, I'm tired of people stealing them and then pasting their copyright all over my images or altering them. I don't know why they're on Flickr and Photobucket either. All this makes me wanna take my illustration works off DA, seriously. But I do miss drawing and creating pretty pictures.

This year my resolutions include doing more photography and design. Guess I've sidetracked from those two for long enough and it's time to put the needle and thread down! I'll apologise in advance if I don't update my DA gallery/journal often enough but I'll always be around to check my messages and new deviations.. so take care and have a great year!

If there is any reason why people have lost interest in snail mailing, it is obviously because of the cost of materials (cards/lettersets) and hassle of dealing with the postal workers. Heh. Sometimes I wonder why I still bother. =_= I can't believe I even got worked up over my Christmas cards... what I thought it was supposed to be a fun project to design and print my own Christmas cards turned out to be a bit more hellish than expected. Oh the pains of reliving my uni days......

I'm not sure if the cards will arrive in time but please forgive me if they do arrive late. Maybe I'm not cut out for these swaps anymore.. -_-

The Muse concert was freaking awesome. If you spoke to me last night after I came home, I was still so excited that I couldn't get proper sentences out and saying things like AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH OMG OMG AWESOOOOOOOOME MUUUUUUSE AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH OMG, etc. My week has simply been grand! (Btw ~MikeyBlighe was the kind soul who introduced me to this wonderful band, much love to him )

But yeah, then you wake up to a new morning and the first thing you get is a reality slap in the face and all the euphoria is gone. Hah.

That aside, I plan to print my own cards for Christmas and would like to swap with 5 Deviants (small number because I have other people to mail cards to and it's going to be expensive o_o). All you gotta do is send me a card by 25 December, not after, and you should receive mine too, hence the "swapping" bit. Not me just sending you a card.

Cards should be handmade OR personally designed and printed since I will be doing the same. Send me a note if you're interested, I'd love to see what you can do!

Thank you to everyone who continue to support me and those who visited my DA page! I'll be working on a 100K image over the next few days so keep your eyes peeled for that

I've got a lot of random things to throw into this journal so bear with me.

1. Many deviants have noted me regarding a Bebo member who used my "Boo." artwork to make skins. My main concern is if my work is being used to gain profit, but if it's not, I'd only want a credit link to my page as the artist and owner of the image. I don't want people claiming my work to be theirs... it's just not right. That issue has been resolved so far (he left me a message on my DA page) and I can't check the Bebo skin as I'm not a member, but I trust that he has done the right thing.. Thanks again to everyone who was concerned about this matter and offered to help me out!

Getting notes and messages about my work being used elsewhere is very annoying but well, the Internet is merely another portal for thieves to steal and exploit. =_= Sigh. Due to this issue I've watermarked a lot of my images and removed the wallpapers from my gallery. Sorry.


2. I've increased plushie prices on my Commission FAQ because I didn't realise that I was charging too little for my plushie commissions since no one requested for custom plushies before. >_< $15 inclusive of shipping means I only get like, $5 for my work? I know that my shipping rates are high but that's how it is when you live Down Under, far away from everyone else....


3. Lol, call me sloooooowwww but I was forced onto the Facebook bandwagon recently and added the lovely Graffiti Wall application but only the other day did I discover that you can replay your drawing process O____O SO COOL! Hahaha sorry, n00bie here. Now I'm drawing more just to re-watch my work come to life.


4. Moyashimon makes me sooooo happy!!! I wanna see more fan art on DA! And I want their merchandise but it's freaking expensive. T__T


5. I'm tempted to do the meme which ~Oborochann posted on her journal recently but... too.. many.... stalkers. x_x I'm paranoid, I know. D: I'm still thinking about it..
